This TUSQ XL nut fits most American-made and import Strat and Tele style guitars. Features a spacer on the underside for flat nut slot channels or simply sand out the spacer for any neck that has a curved nut slot. The string slots are pre-cut to a 9.5″ radius. Graph Tech recommend filing the middle string slots a tiny bit deeper to accommodate necks that have a flatter fingerboard radius, such as 12″. We recommend taking the nut and neck to a qualified guitar luthier who can carry this work out for you if you are unsure about modifying the nut.

So what is the difference between the TUSQ XL material and regular TUSQ? TUSQ XL is engineered from the same material as regular TUSQ but has the added advantage of being impregnated with PTFE which is five times more slippery than graphite. It has all of the tonal benefits that guitarists love about TUSQ that reveals hidden harmonics of the guitar but drastically improves tuning performance at the same time.
