**NEW VERSION:** Since September 2010, the TAD 6550A-STR has been manufactured with a stronger and exceptionally pure anode material combination. Coupled with the extended TAD burn-in and formatting process, the 6550A-STR achieves outstanding consistency and stability, outperforming even the 6550C.

This tube is resilient enough to handle even the most critical applications, such as the Ampeg SVT (please note that it fits only without the tube retainer).

The TAD 6550A-STR is a faithful remake of the vintage GE 6550A, featuring a heavy straight glass envelope, a polished metal base, and the authentic triple-getter construction.
