Johann Mattheson has been a focus of interest for me for many years. In 2008 I issued a complete recording of his Suites of 1714, Harmony’s Monument.
The Melodious Talking Fingers is a natural follow-up. This new scholarly edition was compiled with my colleague Matthew Brown, with a preface in English and German.
Harpsichordists, organists, and even pianists have found this music entertaining and emotionally satisfying.
