Early on in his remarkable career as a concert pianist Glenn Gould composed a few works of his own: a String Quartet (ED8764), Piano Pieces (ED8319) and the Sonata in two movements presented here. While rather roughly finished in places, this foray into composition clearly reflects the stylistic preferences of a highly individual performer.
