Choose your size of practice pad. The 8″ is more convenient for travelling about and the 12″ feels a bit more like the size of a drum. Both can be placed on a table but an optional stand is also available.

Choose your pair of sticks. Vic Firth are one of the biggest names in sticks. Made of high quality American Hickory with consistent quality and pitch matching (so both sticks feel the same weight). 5A is a good place to start for good control on bounces. 7A is good for smaller/younger hands.
