Description
The “3 Ecossaises,” Op. 72 No. 3, by Frédéric Chopin, are a delightful trio of short piano works written in the style of the écossaise, which is a lively, Scottish-inspired dance. While composed in 1826 during Chopin’s youthful period, they were published posthumously in 1855 as part of Opus 72.
These pieces are playful, charming, and showcase Chopin’s early experimentation with dance forms. Though brief, they carry his signature lyrical elegance and rhythmic precision. The “3 Ecossaises” are often enjoyed as light-hearted and accessible examples of Chopin’s piano music.
